It is estimated that 244 million people in India live below the poverty line. Without proper vocational training, women and girls often work as day laborers or resort begging in order to help meet the financial needs of their families. The Tabitha Tailoring school for women offers a six-month training course providing women with a skilled trade. After completing the course, the women are able to be self-supporting. Upon graduation, each tailoring student receives a sewing machine. As a result, the women have the means and training to start their own tailoring business.
Agape House
Agape House cares for at risk children coming to us from a variety of circumstances. In India, hunger and poverty drive many parents to send their children to work in agricultural fields and construction sites. Subsequently, these children are denied a normal childhood, a good education and are forced to work hard labor instead. Such practice only repeats the endless cycle of poverty. Due to the great need, Pastor Sharath started the Agape House to better the lives of children; giving them a hope and an opportunity for a brighter future.
